In part two of our six part Polar King maintenance series, we will cover several operational and visual inspections that you and your refrigeration service technician should check to ensure proper operation. In this continuation of our six part series, we will cover what to expect from your service technician and what steps will be taken to optimize your unit’s efficiency and overall performance.
Step 2: Check unit for proper operation
The second step of the Polar King annual maintenance plan is to both visually and physically inspect your refrigeration or freezer unit to confirm proper operation and functionality. You or your service technician should note and track any abnormalities that might occur over time to your Polar King unit.
Visual and Physical Inspection of your Polar King
1. In order to prevent your walk in cooler from overloading, always check if the fan is operating at proper speed.
2. Visually inspect both the inside and outside of the unit, checking for signs of corrosion or any type of leaking fluids.
3. Verify that all fan motors and blades rotate freely and smoothly.
4. Check for excessive or unusual noises or vibrations emanating from the condenser coils, evaporation coils, or fan motors.
5. Ensure coils and fans are clean and clear of any debris or obstructions.
6. Verify door gasket and closing mechanism are clean and operating properly.
7. Visually inspect the inside of the unit for any abnormal accumulation of ice or frost.
8. Inspect all wiring and connections for kinks, discoloration, or any type of break or damage.
9. Ensure temperature and control settings match.
