As others resolve to drink less, quit smoking, exercise more, or spend less time on social media, you are going to resolve to practice more low temperature cooking. The reasons should be obvious, but in case you need convincing, we will enumerate them for you below.

Reasons to try low temperature cooking:

  • It’s quick. I know what you’re wondering: how can low temperature cooking be considered quick? What we are thinking of here is the relatively quick preparation time involved in low temperature cooking. Generally, once the ingredients have been prepped and dumped into the cooker, you are free to go about your day without giving your next meal a second thought.
  • It’s easy. No standing over the hot stove, stirring and checking color and consistency of your food. With low temperature cooking, all you have to do is start the process and walk away.
  • It’s delightful. Not only do low temperature recipes produce delicious foods, but they also fill the entire house with the savory aroma of cooking food for hours at a time, stretching the amount of enjoyment you receive for each meal.
  • It’s energy and cost effective. Studies have shown that slow and low temperature cooking can reduce energy consumption, and thereby low cooking costs as well.

With so many benefits on offer, it is almost unthinkable not to include more low temperature cooking in your list of New Year’s resolutions.
